Dear lovely dragonflies,
Thank you so much for all of your kind words and messages of support following our announcement that Nancye and I are stepping away from Dragonfly! You can’t know how warm our hearts are even as we grieve this transition.
And it will be a transition. We are super excited to share with you that Amy Serradell of Canon Hand Dyes and Lisa Bass of White Birch Fiber Arts will be purchasing the business this December! Their intention is to keep their own current yarn lines, and they will run Dragonfly as a separate entity, together. That’s right, it will be a bi-coastal adventure! We will train them in dyeing several of your favorite colorways, which they will continue to dye on select current Dragonfly yarn bases, and they will be adding in several new colorways to enhance these existing offerings.
Will the colorways be exactly the same? Probably not, as they are different people and will no doubt put their own very talented spin on them. If you are a long-time customer, you may have noticed that our colors have evolved over time… This is the constantly changing nature of life! But never fear, we are incredibly proud of our colorways, and will be working very closely with Lisa and Amy insure that the Colors of Happiness remain amazing and true to themselves.
We know that Amy and Lisa are also planning to keep our fabulous kits in the lineup, as well as show exclusive colorways for the big shows. They plan to continue our relationships with local yarn stores, so you will still be able to buy our yarns in your own locale. Are there shops you would like to see carry Dragonfly? Let us know!
We will share many more details with you in the coming months, of course. This is just the beginning of a new adventure! We hope to see you at one of our Fall shows, or at our studio closing party in December, where you can bid us farewell and meet Amy and Lisa. We are all looking forward to these new beginnings!
